Palliative Care Training -Symptom

This one hour module describes physical and psychological symptoms common in palliative care and at the end- of- life prevalent in the geriatric population and how they may cause distress.  A review of common geriatric syndromes and symptoms: delirium, dementia, depression, anxiety, respiratory and gastrointestinal systems.  Discussion of treatment options and how to improve quality of life by assessing and managing syndromes and symptoms.  Time is allotted for questions at the end of the presentation as well as for an evaluation of the presentation.  Upon completion of an anonymous evaluation the staff is awarded 1.0 CEU.
