Tosan Emmanuel is a dedicated scientist and community advocate with a strong academic foundation in biomedical and biological sciences. He holds a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, building upon his earlier academic training with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the College of Staten Island. His studies have shaped his interests in environmental health, chronic disease disparities, and community-centered research. Tosan believes deeply in the principle that iron sharpens iron, that through rigorous scholarship, collaboration, and shared growth, he is both strengthened and empowered to strengthen others.
Beyond his scientific training, Tosan is a certified Community Health Worker with Staten Island PPS, where he supports families and vulnerable residents in navigating complex healthcare and social service systems. His work contributes to SI PPS’s mission of improving care quality, addressing disparities, and strengthening coordinated support for Medicaid and uninsured populations through collaborative, community-centered efforts. Tosan’s commitment to service further extends into his role as Program Coordinator for the C.A.L.M. Food Pantry, where he leads data-driven initiatives addressing food insecurity, mental health, and overall wellness. Guided by compassion, evidence-based practice, and a dedication to meeting community needs, Tosan continues to blend science, service, and advocacy to create meaningful and lasting impact.
