As a Behavioral Health Manager, Argela leads programs that strengthen systems of care and improve behavioral health outcomes across the community. She collaborates with partners and leadership to advance initiatives such as Hotspotting and the Social Care Network, using data-driven approaches to identify at-risk individuals and enhance service delivery. She provides program oversight, technical assistance, and training to behavioral health partners, while monitoring program performance, supporting grant development, and promoting continuous improvement aligned with best practices in mental health and substance use treatment.
Previously, Argela served as a Recovery Counselor at Community Health Action of Staten Island, providing clinical assessments, crisis intervention, and individualized treatment planning. She also led harm reduction initiatives, including naloxone training and syringe exchange and partnered with the District Attorney’s Office to advocate for clients in court.
Argela holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the City University of New York – College of Staten Island and is passionate about advancing health equity and helping individuals access the care and support they need to thrive.
