Sheylah E. Alava is the Director, Clinical Integration at Staten Island PPS. In this role, Sheylah is a key team member supporting the execution of Initiatives related to primary care, integration of behavioral health and care navigation. She collaborates with partner organizations to manage the activities and functions of the ambulatory care, collaborative care and care navigation initiatives to ensure that goals and deliverables are accomplished in accordance with contractual agreements. She works closely with the Chief Medical Officer on the implementation of SI PPS ambulatory care goals and strategies, and is involved in oversight of strategic operational and financial processes related to the implementation of population health and care navigation programs.
Prior to joining the team, Sheylah was a Sr. Director of Ambulatory Care Operations, Project Management focusing on Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) sustainment at NYC Health and Hospitals (HHC) across twelve Gotham sites and preparing new sites for PCMH recognition. Prior to this position, Sheylah held the role of Regional Director for Planned Parenthood of Hudson Peconic, where she had oversight of three Comprehensive Centers in New Rochelle, Mt. Vernon and Yonkers. She focused on overall operations, budgeting and marketing strategies. Sheylah holds a Masters of Business Administration from Wagner College.
