Salvatore Volpe, MD, FAAP, FACP, ABP-CI, FHIMSS, CHCQM has over 30 years of a primary care medical practice experience. He has achieved board certification in Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, Clinical Informatics and Quality Assurance. He serves as Chairman of the Richmond County Medical Society HIT Committee.
Dr. Volpe and his practice have been recognized by many organizations. For their work with the Geriatric population and informatics, they received the Island Peer Review Organization (IPRO) Quality Award and SUNY Downstate Medical School Geriatrics Medicine Award. The practice’s focus on PCMH was acknowledged by the Patient-Centered Primary Care Collaborative (PCPCC) with the Patient-Centered Medical Home Practice (PCMH) Award. Due to the innovations introduced by Dr. Volpe and his executive board at HIMSS NYS, he was honored with the Chapter Leader of the Year Award.
He is the editor and co-author of the book Health Informatics: Multidisciplinary Approaches for Current and Future Professionals.
